Hurray... I'm Two...

Hey guys...had to tell this to you
I am going to turn TWO !!

I know what you are thinking …It seems like yesterday
But here comes my second birthday

I can now say a few words & call mama by her name
For which mama & papa say they will use a cane

I gave all my bottles away to a thirsty crow :)
It's important since I've now begun to grow


I love to brush my teeth & to sit on the potty
But do nothing there; just try to be naughty!

I now don’t crib & cry to go to daycare
But I ensure my pranks make them know I am there

I told papa to throw a party for my b’day
He agreed to do it on 24th the Friday,

It’s at Udipi, Yipee Yipee

There will be a cake and balloons and whole lot of fun
It will not be complete without everyone …

So please join us to make it an evening to remember!

Let's rock and roll, I can already feel the thunder!!

Dad is Busy...

Hi All,
I decided to blog today after a long time...It's been a while isn't it ? I am going to be two years old in days to come. I am excited .

I hear Mom asking Dad everyday ..."Can't you get the video ready for the blog??" and Dad replies .."Will do", the scene has not changed for more than a month. Poor Mom !!!Can't blame Dad much , he is busy with work too ..especially after his new Boxee box (Sorry Dada ..!!)

I have been saying a lot of new things ..and doing a lot of new things . I can identify most of the vegetables & fruits now . I can now recognise different sounds (distinguish between a Fire Engine and an Ambulance). I can identify few personalities by name like my President/Dr.OZ/Oprah/ManmohanSingh and Rajinikanth. I know my teacher and school's name. I know where Dad works and where I live. I can identify the major colors . I can make a few phone conversations .."Hi How are you thatha ..Fine thatha ..Bye patti ..Love you patti ..etc. I know the English alphabets and I also know the Tamil alphabets (The uyir ezhuthukal to be precise). I can even put down my feet and say "NOOOO...". I do it most of the times and upset amma and even get spanked.

Amma says "I am an organised,intelligent,adamant Rascal." Let me explain . ORGANIZED-- I put my shoes on the shoe rack when I get back from school and do everything absolutely in the same order every day. I even insist amma hangs her jacket (even if she forgets ..he he !) .INTELLIGENT -- Because I have an astounding memory (she claims so. All Mom's are like that. Aren't they . Boasting that their sons are best in the universe and I bet My Mom is no exception.) If I see the laptop chord, I ensure that it's plugged onto some Laptop. I know if I want my poem to be played , I got to get the Boxee remote to Amma, If Amma says Dosai I need to get her the Pan to make Dosa and If she says cereal I got to fetch her the milk and the cup. And when there's a knock on the door it's appa back from work. ADAMANT -- Because I want to have my pillow to myself. Don't share a thing. And would demand a cookie at 9 PM and would throw a fit bcos Mom would refuse to give me one. Make Mom run behind to me to get my gloves on . And Mom would just say "Why are you so adamant just like your Dad ..?" hmm..

Amma and Appa bought me a trike for my birthday. Bcos I keep playing on Pari's bike which is pink in color and "I still don't understand boys don't ride pink bikes ". So Dad bought me nice cool trike. I just love it . I now eat / play and spend most of my time on my trike. Mom doesn't let me sleep on that . If not I would do that too. I think I have bored you all enough.

Happy Halloween (2010)

Oh oh .. What a halloween .. Can't forget this one ..

I have never seen such an adamant Rishi ..God knows what scared him in that halloween costume.. He just kept screaming ... "NO MONKEY DRESS AMMA" ..Please "No Monkey" .. and he would shake his head with a firm "NO". Seriously got us all hyper.

Finally we landed in Mama's house, Shreeya tried all the tricks she knew to get him to wear his costume. No luck . The best part was he kept screaming "OH MY GOD!!! OH MY GOD", which was so funny. At one point we all gave up.

Shreeya then managed to draw some whiskers put on a striped sweatshirt and made him a little tiger. He did have fun collecting all the toffees that he could.
Mama was at his usual best. With his mask he terrorised everybody. The kids kept crying and screaming whenever he was around. Totally we had a blast.

You gave me a warm hug when I walked in

I created a mess whenever I ate
but you always smiled and cleared my plate!

You trained me to use my sippy &
when I said Mereda… you shouted Yipee …!

I pooped and peed at my will &
you always cleaned me up without a grumble!

Whenever I screamed yelled and cried
You would only tell Mom he was very quite …

You had so many kids around
But I know I was your special one …

Wherever you go & whatever you do
Please remember Rishi will always love you…

Rishi... Rishi... Rishi...

I think this page has been baptised Rightly .."Rishi..Rishi..Rishi"

Yesterday I was sitting on my couch and relaxing when something suddenly stuck me .. wherever I turn I just could see Rishi - On the TV , In Rishi's corner , on the wall ...in the kitchen (he is on the Fridge) , in my car key, in my wallet..in Appa's room (on his mirror) ..Pooh ... What have you done to us Rishi ?

Honestly "Rishi you have just taken over our lives"

All phone conversations start with and end with Rishi ,Thatha and Patti do not have time to talk about daughter or son but just Rishi ..aunts and uncles and cousins invariably have a Rishi enquiry with me ,me and Raja's "only" conversation these days is .."RISHI". Every cine/carnatic song is now retuned to accomodate Rishi ? !! Infact we have a Rishi anthem as well .." We call him R , We call him I , We call him S, We call him H, We call him I , Rishi ..Rishi ..Rishi"

I just wonder if this is true for every parent or are we getting paranoid ?? I wonder !

Infact I have now nicknamed Raja as PP - " Pattu Paithiyam"

What's Rishi Upto - Part II

Yesterday ,I was telling Rishi that I am going to be blogging today.. and immediately he gave me one stern look as if to say .."Mom, please write something nice about me instead of telling all your friends about the not so good things I do..."
He has been doing some really interesting things which I wanted to share with you

He has started talking ..yes a few words like ,he keeps going "amma","appa","mama"..

Rishi loves going outdoors. Half the time he is standing near the shoe rack picking somebody's shoes and taking it to them. This is his way of saying " Take me out!!!"
He loves to climb the stairs now...

He is just getting a little bit of social skills , he does hi-fi,low-fi, shake hands and also "vanakkam".

I try to read books to him , of no use. The moment I try to read something, he will snatch the book from me and start to read .."bye...ayie...blah ..blah.."..It's so funny.

He seems to understand some words that I speak ..like "Get me the diaper ..Get me the diaper bed..Please put the bottle on the table", but what worries me if i tell the same thing in Tamil he just stares at me and when I say the same thing in English he does it immediately. Maybe that's the downside of sending him to Daycare...!

Mother's Day 2010

What is Rishi upto ??

Rishi is now 16 months old ..He is upto some new things of late..I was so excited to share the same with you ..

He is upto a new "Hat" trick now ..he takes his winter cap and slides it on ..ha ha it's so funny to see him wear it ..!

He now pours all his toys in the drawing room ..it does look clumsy but at the end of the day ..Rishi himself helps me clear it ..

When he is excited climbs on his scooter and raises his hands both as if he is accepting a gold medal in olympics ;-)

His favourite pass time now is to open the dishwasher and climb on it as if it is a chair ..and keep pulling the trays and offcourse all the utensils in it ...He seems to enjoy it ..

I have also made a small corner for him on the wall in the drawing room ..to update all pictures and stuff that come in from Daycare .." It's called Rishi's Corner"

When you tell him "Huggie................ " He runs to you and gives you a hug..When you tell him kissie... he gives you a kiss

When you tell him "low fi" ...he does a low .. :) he used to only do hi fi's he he :)

When you tell Rishi " go get a biki .. " he rushes ahead of you to the kitchen and opens the cupboard which has the biscuits...

When you tell him .." This is the way we brush our teeth" , he runs to the restroom ... And before his bath when I tell him .."Rishi common let's go..." He rushes to the restroom too...

When you ask him "Rishi Enge (Where is Rishi?) he replies ...Enge!! ?(Right here)"

When you ask him to put his bottle on the table he gleefully does ...and when you ask him to put his clothes in his basket ..He rushes to do it...

When you wave to him .." He shows Tata ..." (waves his hand )and says ..Byeee...

Rishi knows his books...

Been a while since I blogged.. Everyone has been asking me what I have been upto and why Rishi's site has not been updated...It's just that our chief editor (????!!!) Raja , has been extremely busy and has not been able to spend time to edit the videos and publish them , that's the reason. Apologies to all !

Rishi is now 15 months old ..Time is flying isn't it ??? He is now able to distinguish sounds ..You will be amazed to note that now he is able to identify sounds. He is able to understand and identify his book names...

He has four books ..He is able to differentiate between those..I assume that he identifies my voice modulation and is able to connect to the book I am referring to.

It really amazes me .. I know every small thing that Rishi does amazes me ...(Maybe that's a "mother")

Rishi Celebrates Valentine's Day

Bompu is growing up !

Yes !! You all know I am one year old ...But there are things that I do that makes Amma exclaim every now and then "Oh my God ..Bompu you are growing up" ," You are a big boy now !" ...

When Amma finishes changing my diaper before her I run to the closet where she puts back the diaper box !!!alternatively, when Amma picks up the diaper and the cleaning kit I put down the diaper bed ready for her

When a phone rings ..I rush to pick it up ..;-)

When we get back home wait for Amma or Appa to put the keys back in the key stand!

When Amma gets to bed and removes her hair band I look at the Bed frame where she hangs it for the night !!

When Amma says "In the Garden..." or " In the Jungle" or "The letter factory" , I bring in the respective book :)

When she makes coffee and opens the sugar cannister I clap my hands and indicate to her I need a pinch of it ;-)

When Amma brings the bathing kit and tell me .."Rishi let's go", I run ahead of her and wait for her at the bathroom entrance"..

When Amma hands over a spoon , after playing with it I put it in back the draw from where I picked it..

Am I really growing up or is it just Amma too excited for every little thing I do ???


I have got settled in Minto ...my daycare and infact this is the first feedback from there ... Cheers everyone ..I am growing up..(Check out the bottom of the sheet)

Rishi's New Pass time

Appa does want to put every event on record..."I was having a good time watching TV and I was so engrossed watching it , I just didn't realise that Appa's camera was at work..

He he..!!! Yes I love the metti oli music whenever it comes on TV i get so occupied with it I just don't realise what else is happenning around me..

Till now my TV addiction was with advertisements. I love the " Life Insurance Ad" ( Ice cream colas) , "Surf Excel Ad" (Rosy Miss...), Dokomo (People on Train)/ Vivels Soap ( Dull Divya Dhool Divya ayita doi),SUNTV music (Thamizh Malai)...

Hmm thanks to Amma and her serial addictions that I get to hear the title songs and whenever I hear .."Edhayamm..." or "Thangam..." I run from any corner of the house to the TV ..! But relax guys my TV viewing has reduced as I go to Daycare these days!

Rishi's Birthday Party...

I am sure all of you would have seen the birthday pictures..I just wanted to put a few glimpses here because whenever I walk down the memory lane ..The most significant day of my life needs to be recorded in it's place ...!!! So here are some pictures..

And you know how Appa is he wouldn't let Amma upload any pictures of the Ayushomam / Birthday party because it has got lot of people in it and they say there is no privacy guarantee on the internet. So he put his foot down and refused to upload those pictures here ..!!!!
